Beautiful Creatures

Oh boy, this book made me want to gag. Everything was so melodramatic and extreme. And what a copy! It was Twilight all the way. I double-checked publishing dates. Yup, Twilight was first. And there was also a scene that was a total rip-off from the Carrie prom scene. (mercifully, that was not brought to the screen)

The movie was not great. But it wasn't as intolerable as the book. It added an interesting twist when Lena took away Ethan's memories of her. Also, it's always good to see Emma Thompson hamming it up. The movie did not leave a "cliff hanger", where Lena would have to face the Claiming again next year (oh, gag me, what a horrific ending). Instead, something brought Ethan's memories back, and those crazy kids are going to find each other again.

Movie was definitely better, but not much could save this story.
