The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

This book was not particularly long. I could hardly believe Peter Jackson was able to make it into 3 movies. He really expanded out the story. This film ends with them looking on to the mountain. I'm not sure if Radagast is even in the book.

But it was beautifully done, and I enjoyed the whole movie. Maybe I could have done without the singing, but that only happened 2-3 times. I loved that the characters from the LOTR movies were played by the same actors. Especially Frodo - he only had a small part, but they still got Elijah Wood to play it. And of course Gandalf, and Lord Elrond, and the Lady Galadriel.

The Silver Chair

This was definitely not one of the better Narnia books. I can't say I blame Disney for taking a pass on this one. But the BBC decided to produce it. The film followed the book almost exactly. The special effects were... abominable. Even my kids could tell how terrible they were. Yet they both wanted to finish watching it. I think they were amused. I couldn't even find the film on IMDB.
