Les Miserables (1998)

This movie did not have any singing. I guess I never realized how much of the plot was obliterated by so much singing. There was much more nuance in this version, many more details in the plot. Since it's been so long since I read the book, I assume these details were consistent with the story from the novel.

One thing is for sure, Javert (Geoffrey Rush) was very easy to hate. That man is icky.
