Hearts in Atlantis

It has been quite a while since I read this Stephen King novella. But the movie has several familiar Stephen King themes: pre-teen kids growing up in New England in the 60s, cool bicycle, pretty and strong girl, mysterious men chasing the heroes, characters reading the other's minds.

I believe the book was very descriptive of Bobby's new "psychic" ability. The movie implies it several places, but only says it explicitly in passing. The friendship between Bobby and Ted and Carol is very sweet. We wonder if Ted took Bobby to the betting bar, knowing that Bobby's dad had been a regular there. Most likely. Ted's capture is frustrating, but we hope that he will escape, as it is implied he has done before.
